Yes, I must agree, the automotive technician job used uti auto tech school to be profitable, rewarding and honest years ago. Founded in 1965, Universal Technical Institute provides technical training for students seeking careers in the automotive, diesel, motorcycle, marine and collision repair industries. Manufatures are not in the buisness of servicing cars, they are in it to sell cars period. Whether body or mechanical the good techs should be paid at the top of the industry.
It is really sad what has happened to our industry, and now with the introduction of the light duty classification it is a real slap in the face. With all the above statements of bitterness who would ever want to be an automotive technician. I have noticed that its not the how we get paid that is the problem, it's the who's going to pay you thats the problem.
